FAQ
Recovery questions, answered straight
These are the things people ask Urban Bear Recovery on the phone before booking a recovery in Dartford or anywhere else in Kent. If yours is not here, call and ask — the phone is answered day and night.
Price and payment
- What does it cost?
- Recovery starts from £50 and there are no hidden fees. That is a starting price, not a fixed rate — the final figure depends on distance, the vehicle and the access at both ends, and we confirm it with you on the phone before we set off.
- Is my car insured on your truck?
- Yes. We carry Goods in Transit insurance up to £50,000, which is the cover that protects your own vehicle while it is on our truck — from loading to hand-over. We also carry £5,000,000 Public Liability cover for the work we do around your vehicle.
- Do you do long distance?
- Yes, on request. Longer runs out of Kent and across the South East are quoted before we set off, based on distance, timing and access.
Getting to you
- How fast can you get to me?
- Around 30 minutes to Dartford, the Dartford Crossing and the nearby M25, traffic and availability permitting. Anywhere else in our area, we give you an exact ETA on the phone before you commit to anything.
- Are you available at night?
- Yes — we run 24/7, every day, including nights, weekends and bank holidays. The same number reaches us at 2am as at 2pm.
Insurance and cover
- Do you take motorbikes?
- Yes. Motorcycles, scooters and mopeds are recovered on the flatbed, upright, with soft straps and wheel chocks so nothing is loaded on paint or plastic.
- Can you recover a car with no keys or flat tyres?
- Yes. Non-runners, cars with no keys, flat or missing tyres, seized brakes and no-drive vehicles are loaded with a winch, skates and straps. Tell us the condition when you call so we bring the right kit.
Where to read more
How a job runs from the call to the drop-off is on vehicle recovery, and booked collections and deliveries are on vehicle transport.
Stuck on the water, questions about the Dartford Crossing or the M25 have their own pages. So do accident recovery, non-runners and motorbikes and scooters.
Small print about the business itself is on about us.
