This policy explains how Urban Bear Ltd (trading as Urban Bear Recovery), company number 16206801, based in Dartford, Kent, handles personal data. We are the data controller for the information described here.

What we collect

When you contact us by phone, WhatsApp, email or the enquiry form on this website, we collect the details you give us: your name, phone number, email address if you provide one, the location of the vehicle, the vehicle make and model, the service you need and any message you write. If we carry out work for you we also keep basic job records such as collection and delivery addresses, dates and prices.

Why we use it

• To respond to your enquiry and give you a price and an ETA.
• To carry out the recovery, transport or roadside work you ask for.
• To keep records for insurance, accounting and legal obligations.

Our lawful bases are performance of a contract (carrying out the job), legitimate interests (responding to enquiries and running the business), consent (where you tick the consent box on the enquiry form) and legal obligation (tax and insurance records).

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We share it only where necessary: with our insurers if a claim arises, with the garage, body shop or storage site you ask us to deliver to, with our accountant, and with the providers who host this website and our email. We may disclose information where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become jobs are kept for up to 12 months. Records of completed work are kept for six years plus the current financial year, to meet HMRC and insurance requirements.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it, object to or restrict processing, and withdraw consent at any time. Email gikursu@gmail.com and we will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
